Spring work in full swing
Our work during this spring is in full swing, having already started to lift and sort our asparagus crowns in the first week of March. These crowns have already been delivered to growers throughout Europe. And just like in other years, this year we will be producing over 20 different asparagus varieties for professional asparagus growers.
After a very rainy February, the conditions in March are ideal for sowing our leek plants. In March, April, and May, we sow more than 30 different leek varieties for growers throughout Europe. The first seedlings are sown under small tunnels and then covered with a fleece. We are on schedule in terms of sowing leek plants, and we expect to be able to deliver the first plants at the end of May.
We have also planted our fields of mother plants for strawberries, so we will again be able to harvest several strawberry varieties in August this year. During this time, we will deliver the fresh plants directly to the growers. We are also planting out a large part for harvest in November/December this year.
