Gerhard Zapf has passed away
It is with great sadness that we learned that our esteemed friend and colleague Gerhard Zapf has passed away. On 6th February, we received the sad news that Gerhard is no longer with us. Our thoughts and sympathy go out to his wife, children, and close relatives and we wish them every strength at this difficult time.
For 22 years, Gerhard played a particularly active and committed role in the development of our company. From the age of forty, it was with great enthusiasm that Gerhard introduced us to the world of German asparagus cultivation. This field of work was expanded step by step and, together, we made personal visits to a considerable number of growers.
Without Gerhard's help and commitment, our company would not have been able to take these steps. In addition to selling our plants, he was always interested in who our growers were as people. This made him a very pleasant person to talk to, not only about asparagus but also about a wide range of topics. We are greatly indebted to him for his many years of dedication, working as a representative. His optimism and enthusiasm were always a source of strength and energy and we will miss him dearly.
Over the past few years, his son Michael has built up a considerable amount of experience, visiting many of our customers together with Gerhard, Wim, and John. From this season onwards, Michael will therefore be the contact person for our company. We have every confidence in Michael's abilities and expertise.
We hope we have informed you sufficiently on this matter.
